I’ve decided to change up the usual post type and write an open letter about the ups and downs of participating in a craft show.
Ok, so enough people have complimented your crochet work that you’ve decided you’re going to try doing a craft show. Great! Now, what’s next???
When you have a specific show in Mind
You may be familiar with a few big shows in your area, but It can be tough to find contact information for those running it. You have a few options here, it just depends how quickly you want to start.
1.You can go to the event and ask vendors to direct you to the person who organized the event.
2. You can also research the venue’s website or Facebook page for information about the show. Either of these many also have a way to contact the venue to get more information about the event.
3. Facebook search the name of the event.
If you don’t have a show in mind
You can search terms like “local vendors and crafters” or “craft shows in (insert your location) in a Facebook Search Bar.
Another thing to follow are local yard sale pages.
There are some websites that gather craft show information in within miles of your location. Google is a good place to start.
I hope this was helpful! Please feel free to comqment or message me with your personal experiences finding shows or tips I can add to the list.
Stay tuned for my next post about completing the application and registration.
