Egg-Cellent Apron

Great finished project!!!!! But….. It isn’t quick….

I made some modifications to make the Apron work up a little quicker…

1. I doubled the yarn, using 2 strands of Worsted Weight Yarn at once.

2. For the first panel, I chained 60, I only crocheted 10 rows and cut out the long 3rd row of eggs.

3. For the belt/tie ends, I chained 60 on each side.

Review: Easily to follow and as shown above, easily modified! I think this is a unique item that in the right location could be a best seller. She does provide sizing (measurements) at the end of each section to let you check. I recommend using the measuring tape to stay on track.

Time to Make: 3 hours (with modifications, I’m not sure how long it will take if you follow the Pattern).

Ballet Bun Covers

As a former dancer, this is a pattern close to my heart. I love how easy and quick this FREE Pattern from Moogly works up! I personally still wear these in the summer when it’s too hot to wear my hair down.

Review: This pattern is amazing. All basic stitching and easily modified. I personally don’t have the hook size they recommend, so I use my 3.75 Hook and remove row 7&8 and I think it comes out to the perfect size. You don’t want to make it too big if your target is younger children. Also, I’ve always used the Hair Tie instead of the Ribbon option. I’m sure the ribbon would look great for a performance, but this could always be added later.

Time to Make: Under 30 minutes

Level: Beginner (Chain, Double Crochet)

Personal Materials Used: Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, 3.75 Hook, Hair Tie, Yarn Needle, and Scissors

Review: This pattern is extremely easy to follow with plenty of photos for clarity. The sizes ranges for Toddler to Adult and always run large for room to grow! I’m a 5’10” Adult and I could easily fit the Child Size. The recommended yarn is amazing to work with and is super warm! I’ve also contacted MJ with a question and received a speed and helpful response! If you’re looking to make the WoW gift this year, I highly recommend checking out this Pattern as well as her entire offerings.
